S&T&I priorities for the Russian natural resources sector

Cooperation with the University of North Carolina in the field of energy efficiency: development of roadmaps and educational courses.

In December 2012, Konstantin Vishnevskiy, the research fellow of the Laboratory for Science and Technology Studies ISSEK HSE had a working visit to the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill, USA). Young scientist demonstrated some principles of the elaboration of roadmaps and the system of statistical indicators in the field of energy efficiency and he had a look at approaches to promote the ideas in the field and experience in the development of training courses.

At Foresight frequency: broadcasting signals from the future

International scientific conference Foresight: Innovative Answers to Global Challenges, organised jointly with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), was held at the Higher School of Economic on 18-19 October, 2012. For Russian long-term futures research experts, it was a major venue for discussing promising areas of future-oriented studies.

"Green" pathway for the EU. The workshop by Dimitrios Mavrakis

On November 6, 2012 a public workshop, dedicated to "green" energy, by Professor Dimitrios Mavrakis was held at the Higher School of Economics. According to the expert, "green" energy development is able to defeat the growing global threat of energy shortages and decreasing living standards caused by the deteriorating environment.

From 6 to 8 September 2012 the 12th European Association for Comparative Economic Studies (EACES) Conference took place in Paisley (UK). The participants presented the results of the latest research and discussed the problems and prospects of this area.
