Lectures of Prof. Jutta Guenther from the University of Bremen

On September 22-26, 2014 the students and the staff of ISSEK attended the HSE-hosted lectures by a guest speaker Prof. Jutta Guenther from the University of Bremen (Germany).

On September 22-26, 2014 the students and the staff of ISSEK attended the HSE-hosted lectures by a guest speaker Prof. Jutta Guenther from the University of Bremen (Germany).

Two lectures took place on September 22:

             Institutions, communication and relationships in innovation systems

             Clusters, milieux, and technopoles

Two lectures  - on September 23:

             Comparative analysis of STI and performance

             Innovation behavior of STI actors

And a lecture ‘Determinants of foreign investor's R&D in Germany from a regional perspective’ on September 26, 2014.

Jutta Guenther studied economics and social sciences at the Universities in Oldenburg, Osnabrueck, and Albany/New York. She graduated from her doctoral studies in the year 2002 at the University of Osnabrueck at the chair of economic theory. From 2002 to 2014 she was employed as an economist at the Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH) where she served as head of department (2008-2013) and member of the executive board (2011-2013). In the year 2014, she successfully finished her Habilitation (German postdoc degree) at the Faculty of Economics at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena. In April 2014 she was appointed as a Professor of Economics at the University of Bremen. Her research interests are innovation processes, structural change, and economic transition.
